Wi-Fi Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing the Villa Traiano Guest Wi-Fi network, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use in their entirety. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use the Wi-Fi service.

The Guest Wi-Fi service is provided by Villa Traiano Holding Ltd, registered at 20 Wenlock Road, London, England, N1 7GU (Companies House: 16607218), jointly with the Italian company VT Hospitality S.r.l. (registered office at Viale dei Rettori 9, 82100 Benevento, Italy — VAT: 01892000629 — REA BN-313670), free of charge as a complementary service for hotel guests and visitors.

2. Service Description

The Guest Wi-Fi service provides Internet access through the hotel's wireless network, managed via the Cisco Meraki platform. The service is intended exclusively for guests, visitors and event attendees at Villa Traiano.

Villa Traiano reserves the right to:

  • Limit available bandwidth per user to ensure fair distribution of network resources
  • Suspend or discontinue the service at any time, without prior notice, for maintenance, updates or security reasons
  • Apply content filters to block access to website categories deemed inappropriate or dangerous
  • Limit the maximum duration of connection sessions

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Wi-Fi service solely for lawful activities in compliance with applicable Italian, European and international law. Permitted uses include:

  • Web browsing, email and messaging applications
  • Streaming services for personal use (subject to available bandwidth)
  • Corporate VPN connections for work purposes
  • Downloading files for personal and legitimate use

4. Prohibited Activities

The following activities are strictly prohibited:

  • Illegal activities: any activity that violates Italian, European or international law, including cyber crimes under Italian Legislative Decree 231/2001 and Law 48/2008
  • Copyright infringement: downloading, uploading or sharing copyrighted material without authorisation (torrenting, piracy, etc.)
  • Hacking and intrusion: attempts to gain unauthorised access to networks, computer systems, accounts or third-party data, including port scanning, sniffing or man-in-the-middle attacks
  • Malware and attacks: distribution of viruses, worms, trojans, ransomware or any malicious software, as well as DDoS or other attacks
  • Spam and phishing: bulk unsolicited communications, fraudulent emails or social engineering attempts
  • Illegal content: accessing, distributing or storing child sexual abuse material, hate speech, terrorism-related content or any illegal material
  • Unauthorised commercial use: using the network for commercial activities, server hosting, cryptocurrency mining or services that generate excessive traffic
  • Network interference: any activity that compromises the performance, security or availability of the network for other users
  • Credential sharing: sharing access credentials with third parties or unauthorised sharing of the connection

5. Monitoring and Security

Villa Traiano reserves the right to monitor network traffic at an aggregate level for security, performance optimisation and regulatory compliance purposes. Monitoring is carried out in accordance with the data minimisation principle and does not involve inspection of the content of personal communications.

If suspicious, dangerous or non-compliant activity is detected, Villa Traiano reserves the right to:

  • Immediately block the device's access to the Wi-Fi network
  • Retain relevant connection logs for evidentiary purposes
  • Report the activity to the competent authorities, where required by law

6. Limitation of Liability

The Guest Wi-Fi service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, regarding:

  • Continuity, speed or quality of the connection
  • Uninterrupted availability of the service
  • Absence of interference, interruptions or errors
  • Security of information transmitted over the wireless network

Villa Traiano shall not be liable for:

  • Direct, indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use the Wi-Fi service
  • Data loss, device security breaches or unauthorised access to personal information during use of the network
  • Content accessed by the user through the Wi-Fi network
  • Damage caused by malware, viruses or other malicious software encountered while browsing
  • Actions, conduct or content generated by the user through the Wi-Fi service

You are solely responsible for the security of your device and the data stored on it. We recommend using up-to-date antivirus software, a personal firewall and encrypted connections (HTTPS/VPN) when transmitting sensitive data.

7. User Responsibility

You are personally responsible for all activities carried out through the Wi-Fi network with your device. In the event of a breach of these Terms, applicable law or damage to third parties, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Villa Traiano Holding Ltd from any claim, legal action, damage, cost or expense arising from your conduct.

You are also responsible for safeguarding your Wi-Fi access credentials and for the use of your device.

8. Minors

Access to the Guest Wi-Fi network by children under the age of 14 is permitted only under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian. The parent or guardian is responsible for the minor's use of the service and for implementing any parental controls on the device.

9. Privacy and Data Protection

The processing of personal data collected in connection with the Guest Wi-Fi service is governed by our Wi-Fi Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of these Terms. For the general privacy policy, please refer to the website Privacy Policy.

10. Amendments

Villa Traiano reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. Changes shall take effect upon publication on this page. Continued use of the Wi-Fi service after publication of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by Italian law. Any dispute arising from the use of the Wi-Fi service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Court of Benevento, unless otherwise mandated by consumer protection legislation.
